A new hospital in Barreiro in 2028: a major asset for the town and its inhabitants

Following the announcement of a new bridge linking Barreiro to Lisbon and a new airport just outside Barreiro, the town is continuing its transformation with the announcement of a 55 million euro investment by the CUF group, one of Portugal’s leading private players in the healthcare sector.

A new CUF hospital to strengthen the healthcare offer

Scheduled for completion in 2028, this new hospital will strengthen the region’s healthcare offer and contribute to its economic development. The hospital will reinforce the CUF Barreiro Clinic, already in full operation and currently located temporarily in the city center.

The opening of this hospital will bring many benefits to the people of Barreiro. Firstly, it will contribute to the creation of 300 direct jobs, strengthening the local economic dynamism. Secondly, it will give residents easier access to quality medical care without having to travel to Lisbon, reducing waiting times for consultations and specialist examinations.

Nooba: an ambitious real estate project reshaping Barreiro

This project is part of a wider urban development dynamic in Barreiro, supported in particular by the Capvest Group’s flagship project, Nooba, an ambitious real estate project of 518 apartments currently under construction and designed by the renowned architect Miguel Saraiva. Designed to offer a modern, comfortable living environment, Nooba features spacious homes, all with private balconies or terraces, promoting a lifestyle in harmony with the environment. Future residents will also benefit from high-quality communal areas, including a swimming pool and a panoramic athletics track on the roof of the buildings, less than 20 minutes from Lisbon by ferry.

Barreiro, an attractive alternative to Lisbon

The combination of a quality residential living environment and a high-performance hospital infrastructure reinforces Barreiro’s image as an attractive alternative to Lisbon, offering a balance between comfort, accessibility and local services. Not to mention the proximity of the magnificent Caparica beach.
