Groundbreaking ceremony for the future CEFF Artisanat site in Biel/Bienne

A notable ceremony in the presence of Bernese State Councillors
The groundbreaking ceremony for the future CEFF Artisanat site took place on August 27, 2026, in Biel/Bienne, at the heart of the extension and renovation works of the administrative building where it will be located.
Notably for this type of event, two Bernese State Councillors were present: Evi Allemann, Director of Public Works and Transport, and Reto Müller, Director of Education and Culture, alongside Hans Stöckli, former member of the Swiss National Council.
The speeches highlighted the importance of CEFF for regional vocational training, as well as the successful collaboration between the Bernese authorities and Capvest Group.
A project rooted in the Bernese cantonal redeployment
The building is currently occupied by the BBZ and SFGB vocational training schools, as well as the Swiss Post sorting center, whose activities have been maintained throughout the construction works.
The building will house approximately 6,000 m² of new rental space for CEFF Artisanat, in addition to the 8,378 m² already dedicated to the existing schools (Technical High School and School of Visual Arts). The project is part of the redeployment of cantonal services in the Bernese region, following the 2021 vote on Moutier’s transfer to the Canton of Jura.
Capvest Group is delighted to develop “a new training campus,” in the words of Mr. Alain Stegmann, Deputy General Director of CEFF. This commitment also reflects the priorities of our Ehden Philanthropic Fund, which places support for education among its most important causes.
Delivery of the rental space is scheduled for July 2027, in time for the start of the school year.
