The Federal Council renounces to tighten the Lex Koller

Access to the Swiss real estate market for investors from non-European countries will therefore not be restricted. Faced with the rejection of its proposals in consultation, the Federal Council gave up on Wednesday to harden this law.

The Lex Koller, which came into force in 1985, limits the acquisition of real estate by persons abroad. The draft revision was intended to fill gaps in the law, improve enforcement and reduce the administrative burden.
