Capvest and LoRA technology
The Capvest Group is pleased to participate in the implementation of LoRA (a long range network allowing the reliable transmission of information) on the roof of one of its buildings in a residential area on the left bank of Geneva.
This technology allows the communication by radio of low power consumption objects connected to the internet. The antennas do almost nothing but listen and they transmit at power levels equivalent to a garage door transmitter.
LoRa is now used in the management of industrial structures and buildings or in the agricultural world.
In 2016, in Italy, a 19-story building was connected to a private LoRa network in order to monitor the temperature and humidity of the various apartments. The decrease in the costs of ventilation, heating and cooling of buildings has led to the multiplication of the experience.
In Oulu, Finland, a study recently demonstrated the usefulness of LoRa in a hospital setting for proper patient monitoring and faster response to their needs.
This antenna hosting is in line with the current and future technology that goes hand in hand with a connected city. A network that is both simple and perfectly shaped for the future, of which the Capvest Group is proud to be a part.
